Tahlequah Snow Cones: Kicking2Cones Comes to the Cherokee Capital

By Kicking2Cones

Tahlequah is one of the most culturally rich cities in all of Oklahoma. As the capital of the Cherokee Nation and a university town with Northeastern State University at its heart, it has a layered, vibrant identity that you do not find everywhere. It is also a city that summers hard -- the Illinois River runs right through the region, drawing floaters and outdoor lovers from across the state, and the community has a lively event calendar year-round. Kicking2Cones could not be more excited to serve this town.

We are a family-owned mobile trailer based in the Tulsa area, and we travel throughout northeast Oklahoma for events we believe in. Tahlequah is exactly the kind of place we love -- a strong sense of community, an appreciation for small businesses, and a summer atmosphere that begs for cold, colorful treats.

Let us talk about the river crowd for a second. If you are floating the Illinois River or spending a day at one of the campgrounds in the Tahlequah area, you know what it is like to come off the water tired, sun-soaked, and in desperate need of something refreshing. A Kicking2Cones snow cone in that moment is practically medicinal. Our shaved ice is especially popular for that post-float treat -- the fine texture and full flavor hit differently when you have been in the sun all day.

But Tahlequah is not just about the river. The university brings a young, energetic population. The Cherokee Nation operates one of the largest employers in the region. The local event scene is active with festivals, farmers markets, and community gatherings throughout the year. We want to be at all of it.

Our menu is built for a crowd: classic snow cones, shaved ice, dirty sodas, and fresh-squeezed lemonade. We carry a wide range of syrups -- traditional fruit flavors, tropical blends, cream-topped options, and specialty flavors we develop throughout the season. We have served customers who come back three days in a row trying different combinations, and honestly we love that energy.

We are also available for private events in the Tahlequah area. With the river bringing in gatherings of all sizes throughout the summer, we are well-equipped to handle larger crowds. We have served events of 50 people and events of 500 people. What stays constant is the quality and the care.

If you are an event organizer, a business owner thinking about bringing in a food vendor, a parent planning a birthday party, or just someone who wants to know when we are going to be in your neighborhood, the best thing to do is follow @kicking2cones_ on Instagram. We keep our schedule updated there and love hearing from communities we are planning to visit.

Tahlequah, we are coming for you. Follow along, come find us, and let us make your summer even better!
